Beef

Our delicious beef is 100% grassfed.  Our small herd is a mix of Herefords, American Milking Devons and Angus.


How it Works

  1. Place an order here. That order will be ready between late November and December.
  2. After you place your order, we will confirm your order via email and ask for a non-refundable deposit.
  3. Full payment is due upon delivery/on-farm pick up.

Custom Cut Items

Our custom cut items include a whole cow, a side, and a quarter.  The basic idea is you are ordering a portion of the animal, and you get to choose (we can help too!) how we cut it up. Our standard cutting will likely include the following cuts:

  • steaks  (filet mignon, rib-eye, sirloin, porterhouse, T-bone, top round, flank, flat iron, skirt, spider)
  • roasts (brisket, chuck, mock tender, sirloin, round, teres major, tri-tip)
  • stew beef (kebab beef)
  • short ribs
  • meaty soup bones (shank and neck)
  • ground beef

“Hanging Weight” is measured bone-in and is 30-40% more than what you will put in your freezer depending on how much bone is left in the cuts.

We suggest that folks get together and buy a side or a quarter.  This will provide you with the highest diversity of cuts that you can then split to satisfy your personal preferences.


Fixed Weight Items

If choosing your cuts is daunting, we have two fixed weight options that can be purchased separately or in addition to your custom cut items.

  • A 20-pound variety pack of farmer-selected cuts that would fit in a regular household freezer. $250/each 20-pound pack
  • 10 pounds minimum order of hamburger in 1 pound packages. $6.80/lb

Payment

Fill out the order form, when we receive your online order, we will send an order confirmation email with an invoice for the non-refundable deposit. The remainder of your payment will be due at pick-up/delivery when exact weights are known. Orders are final once deposits are received. 

We accept paper checks and direct bank transfers (click "Pay Now" on your invoice) to pay with a credit card, let us know, and we will add the 3.5% credit card service fee.

Pork

Our pigs are a mix of heritage breeds known for their delicious flavor, long loins (more bacon!) and friendly nature. Their diet consists of many tasty things they find in their rotated paddocks around the farm and a custom mixed feed made with certified organic grain.

Our custom cut items include a whole pig, a side, and a quarter.  The basic idea is you are ordering a portion of the animal, and you get to choose (we can help too!) how we cut it up. Our standard cutting will likely include the following cuts:

  • pork tenderloin
  • ribs 
  • sausage/ground pork
  • ham steaks
  • ham hocks
  • smoked bacon 
  • shoulder or Boston Butt roast  

Custom cut portions include ground pork or sausage (your choice of Ginger Sage, Spicy Italian, Sweet Italian, Maple Breakfast, Bourbon Fennel, Mexican Chorizo) we have indicated below approximate sausage weights given our standard cutting.

  • Ground Pork - 10 pound minimum of 1-pound packages of plain ground pork. $8.00/lb
  • Bacon - 3 pound minimum of cured, smoked, sliced bacon.  $11.00/lb

Pastured Chicken

Organically fed and pasture raised, these chickens are tasty! Available now in the Farm Store or by order.


How it Works

Easy! Chickens are available in our farm store all year round.  If you don't want to order ahead of time, no problem, just come get them whenever you'd like.  The Farm Store is open 365 days of the year, 7 days a week 8am to 9pm. If you live farther away or don't want to take the chance that we sell out, you can order ahead of time by using our online order form here.

  • When you order, you send us a non-refundable deposit towards the total cost of your order. (We will accept orders until we’re sold out).
  • Your Freedom Rangers grow up in our pastures eating grass and an organic or local grain ration;
  • We harvest the birds, weigh, bag and freeze them here on the farm;
  • You pick up a year’s supply of chicken on the farm starting mid-June or we deliver to select locations (TBD) before Thanksgiving.

These chickens have the life!  On pasture as soon as they're sturdy enough (2-3 weeks), we place their coops (Joel Salatin Chicken Tractor Style) in electronet and leave them propped open 24 hours a day, so they can forage whenever they like.  A custom mixed organic or local feed ration supplements their foraging.   

The average household of four will eat 15 to 20 chickens a year.
